LT05 - The Door
Scripture of the Week
I am the Lord, I have called you in righteousness, I have taken you by the hand and kept you; I have given you as a covenant to the people, a light to the nations, to open the eyes that are blind, to bring out the prisoners from the dungeon, from the prison those who sit in darkness. Lord, that is my name; that is my name; my glory I give to no other… See, the former things have come to pass, new things I now declare. — Isaiah 42:6-9

Tuesday Catechism Encounter:
Open your Small Catechism or go on line to Part III, Luther’s teaching on the Lord’s Prayer. Read through the prayer together. Whisper it. Now read through the meanings of each part of the prayer. Which of these petitions might have been most comforting to Luther when he was deciding to take his bold stance against the abuses of the church and preparing his 95 Theses?
