Monday Art Encounter:
What do you see in the image on the front page? Can you tell this part of Luther’s story?
Tuesday Catechism Encounter:
All of his life, Luther battled both internal and external struggles. Whenever he felt Satan condemning him and questioning him, whenever he faced doubt and threats, he found great comfort and power in the fact he belonged to God through his baptism. Flip through Luther’s Small Catechism or go on line and find it. Read Part VI: The Sacrament of Holy Baptism. According to Luther, what is baptism? What are the benefits of baptism?
Print this week’s 10 question Quiz Bowl (pdf). Pick a moderator and play the game. Have fun!
What is fear? When was the last time you felt afraid? What led up to the fear? How did you overcome it?
Friday Role Play:
Act out the scene on the cover. Students and printers grab and distribute Luther’s 95 Theses. Word spreads across the world that Luther is protesting abuses of the church. Now Martin has been summoned to an inquisition before the powerful Cardinal Cajetan to answer for his heresy. Rumor has it he may be arrested and sent to Rome in chains. He is afraid. What do you tell him?
What was your highest high this week? What was your lowest low? Thank and praise God for the highest high. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you with the lowest low. Close in Jesus’ name.
